Ravid Plotnik Names Newborn Son Levi Enoch After Biblical Tribe
Israeli singer Ravid Plotnik and his wife, Mai Gouriani, celebrated the brit milah, or circumcision ceremony, for their firstborn son on Tuesday. The couple chose an authentic biblical name for their child, naming him Levi Enoch.
Gouriani shared on Instagram that the couple desired a "rooted and Jewish" name. They settled on Levi, referencing the Tribe of Levi, who were responsible for singing and music in the Holy Temple. The name Enoch is also of biblical origin.
The couple married approximately 18 months ago, with Rabbi Haim Horowitz, the rabbi of the Tzahala neighborhood in Tel Aviv, officiating their wedding.
Notably, singer Shmulik Sukkot reportedly left the event due to a lack of gender separation, according to a separate report.
