Ex-Shin Bet Official Joins Liberman Party, Demands Accountability for October 7

Dvir Kariv, a former Shin Bet field operative and educator who recently joined Avigdor Liberman's Yisrael Beiteinu party, stated that the Shin Bet security agency must also provide answers regarding the October 7th Hamas attacks. Kariv, who served for decades in the Shin Bet before transitioning to a career in education, expressed his pain over the heavy price paid by his students since the war began, losing seven students since October 7th. He emphasized that the families of victims deserve answers.

Speaking in an interview with Channel Knesset, Kariv highlighted the need for a comprehensive investigation at all levels, addressing both intelligence and political failures surrounding the events of October 7th. He specifically called for accountability not only from the security apparatus, including the Shin Bet, but also from elected officials. Kariv's remarks underscore a growing demand for transparency and responsibility from various branches of Israel's security and political leadership in the wake of the unprecedented attack.
