Israel to Switch to Winter Time in October 2026
Israel will transition to winter time on the night between October 24 and 25, 2026. The clocks will be moved back one hour at 2:00 AM, making it 1:00 AM, effectively adding an extra hour of sleep. This change marks the end of daylight saving time, which began in March 2026.
Winter time will remain in effect until March 26, 2027. On that date, at 2:00 AM, clocks will spring forward one hour to 3:00 AM as Israel reverts to daylight saving time. This transition will occur on the night between Thursday and Friday, March 25 and 26, 2027.
While most digital devices automatically adjust for the time change, manual adjustment will be necessary for analog clocks. The primary benefit of adjusting clocks is to align human activity with daylight hours, which is also cited as a factor in energy conservation, potentially saving hundreds of millions of shekels annually.
