Jerusalem Pickle Stand Owner Criticizes Netanyahu, Shifts Support

Yehuda Ohayon, owner of the "King of Pickles" stand in Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda market, has faced backlash after publicly withdrawing his support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and endorsing Gadi Eisenkot. Ohayon described the harsh reactions he received, including threats of boycotts and accusations of living in a fantasy, with even media personality Yinon Magal sharing details of Ohayon's past run-ins with authorities. Ohayon stated he is not afraid of the negative responses, asserting that for every negative comment, he has received a thousand positive ones. He explained his decision by criticizing Netanyahu's leadership, particularly regarding security failures. Ohayon alleged that key figures, including the head of the Mossad and Netanyahu himself, failed to act on crucial intelligence received on the morning of October 7th, leading to the Hamas attack. He cited the deaths of approximately 1,200-1,300 people and thousands injured as a direct consequence of this inaction. Ohayon also warned about ongoing Qatari funding to Gaza, which he claims enables Hamas to rearm and pose a future threat, stating, "You have been warned." He concluded that without satisfactory answers regarding these security failures, he cannot support Netanyahu and has instead shifted his allegiance to Gadi Eisenkot.
