Grand Rabbi of Zvihl Celebrates Sukkot at Western Wall and Beitar
The Grand Rabbi of Zvihl marked the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday by visiting the Western Wall and leading celebrations in Beitar Illit. On Sunday, the first day of Chol HaMoed, the Rabbi prayed the Musaf service at the Western Wall, the remnant of the Holy Temple. Following the prayers, he and his followers recited "Mifnei Chet'ainu" (For our sins) facing the Temple Mount.
Later, at the large sukkah adjacent to the central synagogue in Beitar Illit, the Rabbi has been hosting the "Simchat Beit Hashoeva" (Rejoicing of the Water-Drawing) ceremony each evening. The main event took place on Monday night, during the "Ushpizin" (guests) for Moses, drawing Hasidim from across the country.
During the ceremony, the Rabbi enthusiastically encouraged singing and chanting, with the participation of all the rabbis of Beitar Illit.
