Kosovo Faces Key Absences Ahead of Israel Match

Kosovo's national football team is grappling with significant player absences ahead of their upcoming match against Israel. Key defender Albion Hajdari, a 23-year-old standout, has been definitively ruled out due to a lingering injury and will return to his club, Hoffenheim, for treatment. Hajdari played the full 90 minutes in Kosovo's Nations League opener against Ireland but missed their recent 3-1 loss to Austria and will now miss the remaining two games, including the one against Israel.

Adding to the team's woes, midfielder Leon Ado, also of Hoffenheim, has been temporarily released from the squad for family reasons. Reports in the Kosovar media suggest his return for the Thursday match against Israel is unlikely. The availability of first-choice goalkeeper Aro Muric remains uncertain after he sustained an injury during the game in Vienna.

Amir Shaipi, who replaced Muric, is prepared to start and expressed confidence in the team's ability to perform. "We owe it to the fans and the people in Kosovo to show we are a strong team," Shaipi stated. "I know we have enough quality in the squad, and we can beat this opponent too."

Kosovo's coaching staff is also concerned about the physical toll on the players after two matches in three days. Coach Franco Foda is reportedly considering significant changes to the starting lineup due to player fatigue.
