Shomron Council Head Warns World Leaders: Israel is 'Appetizer' for Radical Islamists

Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council, addressed an international delegation of hundreds of leaders from 70 countries, warning them that pressure on Israel, particularly regarding boycotts of Jewish businesses in Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights, and Jerusalem, ultimately threatens Western nations. Dagan stated that radical Islamist movements view the entire Western world as a target, with Israel being a "small target" and Europe and the United States the "main dish." He emphasized that this is a shared struggle for Western civilization's values.

Dagan criticized recent sanctions and boycott measures imposed by the UK, Norway, and the Netherlands, calling them outrageous and beneficial to radical forces. He also revisited the 20-year-old disengagement from Gaza and northern Samaria, labeling it a grave mistake. Dagan argued that the promised prosperity did not materialize and that the events of October 7th highlighted the dangers of such actions.

He presented two paths for the region: continued pressure leading to a hostile entity threatening major cities, or the extension of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. Dagan also updated the delegation on the restoration of communities in northern Samaria, including new settlements and a kindergarten near historical sites.

Concluding his remarks, Dagan thanked international supporters and invited them to the "Shomron March" on Wednesday, September 30th, to support the revival of Jewish settlements in the region.
