Hapoel Jerusalem Ranked Fourth in EuroCup Power Rankings

The 2026-27 EuroCup season is set to begin, with Hapoel Jerusalem facing Germany's Anze Rostock in their opening game. Ahead of the tournament's start, Eurohoops published its power rankings for the 32 participating teams, assessing Jerusalem's roster and prospects for the season.

PAOK Thessaloniki tops the rankings, credited for its "proven quality, depth, and coaching." Key players mentioned include Nick Calathes, Giedrius Gustas, Marcus Foster, Naz Mitrou-Long, and Kyle Alexander, with Andrea Trinchieri as head coach. Second place belongs to Besiktas Istanbul, boasting a deep backcourt with Malachi Flynn, Alexa Avramovic, and Marquis Reed. Aris Thessaloniki is third, noted for having the "highest individual talent ceiling in the competition," featuring Nemanja Dangubic, Vasilis Toliopoulos, Stefan Jovic, Matthew Morgan, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, E.J. Liddell, and Kam Birch.

Hapoel Jerusalem is ranked fourth. Eurohoops highlighted that despite the absence of Jared Harper due to injury, the team possesses a particularly deep backcourt with Jalen Smith, Lorenzo Brown, and Shai Milt. The ranking also points to significant frontcourt strength with Kenny Lofton Jr., David Roddy, Devonte' Cacok, and Dusan Miltic. Coach Sasa Obradovic adds tactical authority, and the constructed roster appears poised for a deep run in the competition.

Tenerife rounds out the top five. Despite a coaching change, the team retains much of the experience that has made it a familiar presence in European basketball. Marcelinho Huertas, Giorgi Shermadini, Kyle Guy, Jaime Fernandez, and Timas Abromaitis bring extensive high-level European experience, and coach Jakoba Lakovic has a history of winning European titles.
