Media Personality Slams Netanyahu Over Rising Global Antisemitism

Israeli media personality and commentator Avri Gilad has launched a scathing critique against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, directly accusing him of responsibility for the surge in global antisemitism and the failure of Israel's public diplomacy efforts. In an opinion piece published in 'Israel Hayom', Gilad asserted that Netanyahu bears the indelible blame for the global antisemitic wave.

Gilad detailed what he described as a failure in public diplomacy and a lack of preparedness against a sophisticated global propaganda machine. He questioned how Netanyahu, aware for years of this developing apparatus, larger than Goebbels', did nothing to counter it. Gilad criticized the prime minister for not establishing a parallel defense mechanism, allocating funds, or appointing responsible parties, suggesting Netanyahu's perceived arrogance led him to believe his English fluency and public appearances were sufficient.

The commentator highlighted recent antisemitic incidents, including increased scrutiny of goods from Israeli settlements entering the Netherlands and the suspension of a Canadian Jewish newsman for posting a video of Palestinian rioters outside a Toronto synagogue on Yom Kippur. He also noted the Irish national football team's arrival in Israel with black armbands and a refusal to shake hands.

Gilad concluded with a dire warning, stating that a 'second Holocaust' is imminent, brewing in Europe, Canada, and parts of the United States. He accused Netanyahu of failing to take any action to prevent or combat this threat, arguing that his annual speeches to handpicked audiences were ineffective. Gilad declared that as the leader of the Jewish people, Netanyahu is also guilty of this failure, an accusation he believes will tarnish his legacy for centuries, eclipsing even the perceived failures related to the October 7th events.
