Liberman Accuses Netanyahu of Knowing About Looming 'Massacre'

Avigdor Liberman, leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, launched a severe attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming Netanyahu was aware of the impending events of October 7th. Speaking on Radio 103fm, Liberman suggested Netanyahu's urgent meeting with the President of the UAE was an attempt to secure a denial of reports that Arab nations were interfering in Israeli elections to oust him. Liberman interpreted the UAE president's alleged refusal to lie for Netanyahu as a sign of underlying issues.

Liberman further asserted that Netanyahu had received multiple prior warnings, including an 11-page document detailing the exact scenario that unfolded on October 7th. He stated these concerns were raised in cabinet meetings during his own resignation. Liberman also recalled that in 2019, the former head of the Shin Bet presented Netanyahu with intelligence indicating Qatari funds were reaching the military wing of Hamas, suggesting Netanyahu was fully aware of the potential for a 'massacre'.

Liberman criticized Netanyahu's policy of 'containment' towards Gaza, particularly his willingness to overlook issues for the sake of potential relations with Saudi Arabia. He contrasted this with Netanyahu's subsequent accusations against Arab states, calling the prime minister's behavior unreasonable and illogical. Liberman, drawing on his experience in security cabinets and private meetings with Netanyahu, concluded that the prime minister is currently seeking scapegoats instead of conducting a thorough self-assessment following the events of October 7th.
