Bnei Brak Mayor Joins Community Leaders for Sukkot Celebration

By כיכר השבת, חיים רוזנבוים
Translated & summarized from Kikar HaShabbat by baba
The story · English

Community members of 'Heichal Maran' in Bnei Brak gathered yesterday for a special Sukkot celebration, marking the inauguration of their Sukkah near the study hall. The event was attended by prominent rabbis, including the local rabbinical authority Rabbi Nissim Malka, and Mayor of Bnei Brak, Chanokh Zeibert, along with his deputy Eliyahu Shoshan.

During the ceremony, attendees expressed gratitude to God for over 55 years of Torah study and the dissemination of Halakha (Jewish law) in the city. Rabbi Malka opened the proceedings with thanks for divine miracles and the opportunity to support a Torah institution that has been active for more than half a century.

Rabbi Shabsai Levi, a lecturer at 'Halichot Moshe,' also spoke, recalling his grandfather, Rabbi Shimon Malka, the founder of the community and a former rabbinical authority, who dedicated his life to Torah scholars in Bnei Brak. The event also saw the presence of notable public figure Yaakov Zacharia and other dignitaries.
