Explosion Rocks Holon, Injuring Teenager; Suspect Flees on Scooter

Police are conducting a large-scale manhunt for a suspect known to law enforcement and linked to a crime organization, who fled the scene of an explosive device detonation in Holon on a scooter. The blast occurred Monday morning in the yard of a home in the Jaffa Cohen neighborhood. Authorities believe the device was intended for a criminal target who was not harmed, and investigators are examining the possibility of a criminal "work accident," meaning the bomb detonated prematurely.

Eyewitnesses described the explosion as immense, with some comparing it to a missile strike. Immediately after the blast, a scooter rider reportedly arrived, picked up another individual known to police, and they fled amidst the chaos. The injured party is a 15-year-old boy who was present at the location by chance and sustained moderate injuries from the blast and shrapnel. He was evacuated to Wolfson Medical Center in serious condition.

Residents expressed shock and relief that a greater tragedy was averted, noting that a woman with three young children had passed the area just minutes before the explosion. Paramedics described finding the teenager conscious but severely wounded, providing life-saving treatment before transport to the hospital.

The incident is part of a recent surge in serious criminal events across Israel involving explosives in civilian areas. Tel Aviv District Commander Superintendent Chaim Scharf is reportedly holding continuous situation assessments to apprehend those involved and restore order.
