Hapoel Tel Aviv Guard Micic Discusses Team Chemistry and Upcoming EuroLeague Clash

Hapoel Tel Aviv guard Vasilije Micic spoke to the Serbian press ahead of his team's challenging EuroLeague road game against Crvena Zvezda Belgrade. The team is looking to rebound after a disappointing opening loss to Bayern Munich in the same competition. Micic commented on former teammates Jonathan Motley and Chris Jones, who now play for Crvena Zvezda, calling Jones a "pleasant surprise" as both a person and player, and Motley a "proven player with huge offensive potential."

Micic detailed his preparation for the current season, noting he had more time and a different approach compared to the previous year. He expressed hope that his hard work will pay off, providing him with additional confidence. He acknowledged that the team has not started well, showing "two completely different sides" in their first game, with an "unexplained drop" after a strong start. He attributed this partly to new players not fully understanding the team's identity in difficult situations.

Looking ahead to the match against Crvena Zvezda, Micic praised their strong performance against Zalgiris, noting their fighting spirit and potential to win. He anticipates an "interesting game for both teams."

When asked about the "chemistry in the Hapoel Tel Aviv locker room," Micic stated that "everyone has an ego, and that ego can be destructive." He explained that while winning masks issues, "when losses come, there is a fear that certain problems will surface." Micic believes the most crucial element is for players to feel comfortable and secure in their roles.
