BBC to Review Gaza Staff After Terror Links Alleged

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced it will re-examine its list of Gaza-based journalists following a report alleging that 53 individuals killed in strikes were also operatives for Hamas and other militant groups. The report, published by the British newspaper The Telegraph on Saturday, identified these individuals through social media images showing them in Hamas uniforms and their names appearing on "martyr lists" published by the organizations.

Among those identified was Abdallah Darwish, described by BBC Arabic as a "photographer for Al-Aqsa channel," who was documented in uniforms of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades during the October 7th events. Another individual, Yaqoub Al-Barsh, presented by BBC Arabic as the manager of "Na'ama Radio," was reportedly listed as a martyr by the Al-Qassam Brigades.

The BBC has stated it is reviewing the allegations and its hiring practices in the region. The report has intensified scrutiny on the international broadcaster's operations and its vetting of personnel in conflict zones.
