Feiglin Praises Rabbi Meir Kahane, Criticizes Religious Zionist Leaders

Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party, has sharply criticized Religious Zionist minister Bezalel Smotrich and Otzma Yehudit minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for their conduct within the government regarding humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Speaking on Galei Yisrael radio, Feiglin accused the ministers of failing to follow through on their threats to resign over the issue, contrasting their inaction with his party's hypothetical stance. "Zehut would have left the government the moment the first grain of rice was transferred, as Smotrich threatened and did not fulfill, and as Itamar threatened and then reversed course," Feiglin stated.

Feiglin also addressed the legacy of Rabbi Meir Kahane, particularly in light of the October 7th events. When asked if he considered Rabbi Kahane, who passed away in 1990, to be righteous (zichrono livracha, 'may his memory be blessed'), Feiglin responded affirmatively. "Certainly, may his memory be blessed," Feiglin said. "I think Rabbi Kahane was righteous. After October 7th, it is difficult to honestly say that he was not right about most of the things he said. The title 'may his memory be blessed' certainly suits him."
