Hundreds of Settlers, Including Minister Ben-Gvir, Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Palestinian sources reported on Monday that hundreds of settlers, accompanied by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, entered the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the third day of the Sukkot holiday. The sources stated that the settlers performed Talmudic rituals within the mosque's compound, which they described as a violation of the established status quo.

Minister Ben-Gvir published a video from the mosque's courtyards calling for the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over Al-Aqsa. Palestinian Authority presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh warned of the "systematic Israeli escalation" against occupied Jerusalem and its holy sites. He asserted that the continued incursions by "extremist settlers and ministers of the occupation government" for the third consecutive day represent a failed attempt to impose new realities that will grant the occupation no legitimacy.

Abu Rudeineh further stated that these "provocative and condemned incursions" are a flagrant violation of the historical and legal status quo. He accused the occupation government of attempting to impose a de facto policy targeting the identity of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
