Improvised Explosives Found Near Homes in Bartaa, Police Foil Attack

Police officers from the Iron Station, along with tactical unit fighters, conducted an operation overnight between Sunday and Monday in the village of Bartaa, located in the West Bank. During the operation, two improvised explosive devices were discovered in an area adjacent to a residential building.

The operation was part of an ongoing effort to combat illegal weapons, strengthen security, and assert governance. According to a statement from the police spokesperson, the tactical unit collaborated with the Iron Station officers in the search.

Upon locating the dangerous devices near the residence, a police sapper was summoned to the scene. The sapper worked to neutralize the explosives and mitigate the associated risks. The police have classified the incident as the foiling of a "criminal attack."

The police emphasized their continued commitment to combating illegal weapons offenses with all available means, as part of their broader fight against crime, reinforcing governance, and enhancing security. Bartaa has been the site of previous police operations; in August of last year, security forces seized counterfeit goods valued at approximately NIS 4 million, including cigarettes and branded clothing, and arrested three suspects.
