Israeli Journalist Claims Knowledge of Security Official Who Met Egyptian Intelligence Chief

Israeli journalist and Channel 11 news anchor Ayelet Hason has revealed new details regarding behind-the-scenes contacts during the political campaigns surrounding the October 7th events, strongly criticizing the so-called 'warnings campaign.' Speaking on the radio program 'Ptitkhi and Zamri in the Nation,' Hason stated that Egyptian Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel visited Israel for 67 minutes. He did not meet with the Prime Minister, the National Security Advisor, or the Defense Minister, but rather with a security official. Hason asserted she knows the identity of this official, describing him as a former security figure who is 'a big stirrer' involved in current affairs.

Hason also addressed the command concept and attempts at a settlement with Hamas in the years preceding the war, directly criticizing security leaders. She claimed that the Israeli Shin Bet, under Ronen Bar, and Egyptian intelligence had discussed encouraging a settlement with Yahya Sinwar, whom she accused of deceiving everyone. Hason questioned whether Egypt and Israel genuinely desired a settlement and directly asked if Ronen Bar was 'blind' and 'an idiot.'

Furthermore, Hason criticized the public campaign aiming to assign blame for the security failures, arguing it harms national security and the national narrative. She differentiated between events before October 7th and the events of that day and night, stating that while elections are approaching and people can choose their leaders, blaming the nation for the October 7th failures is unacceptable.

Hason concluded by urging campaign managers and media personnel to use truthful methods in their discourse, warning that the current campaign is fueling Israel's enemies and is 'disgusting' and 'malicious.'
