Fatal Crash Near Sderot Claims One Life, Injures Two

A man in his 30s was killed early this morning in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 232, which runs along the Gaza border area. The fatal accident occurred near the Ibim Junction, close to the city of Sderot.

MDA (Magen David Adom) emergency services received a report of the crash at 10:54 AM. Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the man with severe, multi-system injuries and no signs of life, and they were forced to declare him deceased. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to extract the victim from the heavily damaged vehicle, which had also caught fire.

Two other men, both in their 40s, were treated by paramedics for moderate injuries and transported to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. Paramedics described the scene as "difficult," noting the car was "crushed" with "significant body damage."

The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Officers from the Sderot station and traffic accident investigators are working to manage the traffic disruption.
