Celebrity Rabbi Presents Prized Citrons to Chief Rabbi for Sukkot
Rabbi Mordechai Hassidim, known as the "celebrity rabbi," visited Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, the Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel, to present him with choice etrogs for the Sukkot holiday. Hassidim brought a Yemeni etrog and a Moroccan etrog to Rabbi Yosef's sukkah.
During the visit, Hassidim also presented Rabbi Yosef with the book 'Mar'eh Kohen,' which is about Rabbi Shimon Cohen. In return, Rabbi Yosef inscribed and gifted Hassidim a copy of 'Yalkut Yosef,' a halachic compendium.
The tradition of presenting etrogs for Sukkot is a significant one, and Rabbi Hassidim has continued this practice with prominent rabbinical figures.
