Rabbi Edelstein to Lead Special Blessing Ceremony for Singles During Sukkot

During the Sukkot holiday, a special "matchmaking ceremony" will be held by Rabbi Moshe Yehoshua Harlap, a prominent rabbinic leader, for donors to the "Kupat Ha'ir" charity. The event is scheduled for Thursday, the 15th of Tishrei, which is observed as the "Ushpizin" (guest) day of Aaron the High Priest. This day is considered auspicious for finding a spouse, based on traditions that Aaron the High Priest was a lover of peace and reconciliation, fostering harmony between people and within marriages. Rabbi Harlap will recite the names of donors and their family members seeking a match, praying for them to find their partners by Hanukkah of next year.

Participation in the ceremony requires a donation of 740 shekels, a sum numerically equivalent to "Ushpizin Aaron the High Priest," along with the submission of names of those needing a blessing for marriage. An additional option allows individuals to receive a "matchmaking document" signed by Rabbi Harlap for a monthly contribution of 100 shekels over 36 months. This document will be sent to donors after Sukkot. Those wishing to include names for the blessing are urged to submit them promptly before the ceremony.
