Israel Consulate Protests Anti-Israel Film "NAZA" Premiere in New York

The Israeli Consulate in New York organized a protest against the documentary film "NAZA" during its American premiere at the New York Film Festival on September 26. Consul General of Israel Ofir Akunis announced that rented trucks with LED screens were displayed near the Lincoln Center, where the film was shown, broadcasting reminders of the October 7 events. Prior to the screening, the Israeli-American Council held a demonstration outside the venue with Israeli flags and signs supporting the army. Organizers described the film as anti-Israel, focusing on the topic of targeting decisions in Gaza. A review by Jewish Currents noted the film's potential impact on American audiences, highlighting that its participants include Israeli soldiers who identify as liberals. Akunis strongly condemned the film's creators, stating, "The creators of this film are shameful people. We will not stand by and remain silent when the film's authors incite hostility against our heroic soldiers and the State of Israel."
