Convoys Head to Gaza Demanding Resettlement

Hundreds of vehicles from across Israel are en route to the Gaza Strip, protesting the government's policies and calling for the renewal of Jewish settlement in the area. The convoy, organized by residents of southern Israel, aims to express opposition to the current situation and assert that the Oslo Accords are no longer relevant.

Participants are demanding that Israel reassert control over the territory and allow for resettlement, arguing that this would send a clear message to Palestinians. Some expressed frustration with the government's approach, with one participant stating, "It's great that we took back territory we received and returned to settle it."

Critics of the resettlement push, however, argue that such actions could undermine Israel's strategic efforts regarding the potential migration of Gazan refugees. They contend that calls for resettlement could damage Israel's legitimacy in convincing other countries to accept Palestinian refugees, especially given the widespread destruction in Gaza, estimated at 60 million tons of bomb debris.
