Hostage Families Advocate Demand Accountability for October 7 Failures

Einav Tsengauker, mother of released hostage Matan Tsengauker and a prominent figure among the families of those held captive by Hamas, is continuing her advocacy efforts during the Sukkot holiday. In a video message, she urged Israelis to visit the "Sukkot of Victims of the October 7 Failure" erected in Tel Aviv's Hostages Square. The initiative, running from September 27-29 starting at 5:30 PM, will host residents from the Gaza border communities, survivors of the October 7th massacre, bereaved families, and hostage families for open discussions about the failures, pain, and responsibility surrounding the events.

Tsengauker emphasized in the video that "the shocking publications about the real-time warnings received only remind us how great the struggle is to hold all those responsible for the failure accountable." She firmly stated, "We will not allow anyone to rewrite what happened and escape responsibility."

This event follows a recent, strong public criticism Tsengauker leveled against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In a social media post, she attacked Netanyahu's claims of success in returning hostages, accusing him of abandoning many others who were killed in captivity. "He is trying to erase them, their memory," Tsengauker exclaimed, noting that the families' lives have become a nightmare since the difficult news, while the Prime Minister has not called most of them or attended funerals.

Tsengauker concluded her harsh remarks with a clear call for Netanyahu's political departure, stating, "This uncircumcised man, who has shares from hell in the failure and has since tried to cover up and lie, must get out of our public lives. He cannot make decisions about Israel's security."
