Nezah Director Attacks US Funding of Gaza War at NY Film Fest

Yuval Abraham, director of the film "Nezah," criticized the U.S. government during the film's New York premiere, calling it a "financier of Gaza's destruction by Israel." Abraham stated that a key goal of the film is to make it harder for people to deny what is happening in Gaza. He emphasized the importance of screening the film at the festival, arguing that the U.S. is responsible for providing billions in aid and military support to Israel, which he claims is used against Palestinians.

"It is important for us to see this film because these senior officials are talking about what is being done with the tax money of the people sitting here. This is what your country supports and finances," Abraham said during a post-screening discussion. He also addressed the October 7th Hamas attacks, stating, "The massacre is completely unjustified, but it also cannot justify what you have seen. Does it justify massacring so many civilians in Gaza?"

Outside the screening, the Israeli-American Community Council organized a protest with over 50 participants. Demonstrators described the film as "anti-Israel" and claimed it makes serious accusations about the IDF's conduct in Gaza, ignoring contradictory information. Protesters displayed footage from the October 7th attacks and images of victims on LED screens mounted on trucks.
