Ben Caspit Slams Yinnon Magal as 'Brainwashed Slave' in Online Feud

Veteran Israeli journalist Ben Caspit engaged in a heated online exchange with Channel 14 anchor Yinnon Magal, escalating a public dispute between the two media personalities. The controversy ignited when Magal posted a tweet criticizing Caspit's call to eliminate Hamas, juxtaposing it with a 2020 statement by Caspit suggesting Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was someone with whom "business could be done."

Caspit responded fiercely, calling Magal a "brainwashed slave" and accusing him of deliberately taking statements out of context to lie for his livelihood. Caspit asserted that Magal knew the truth, having heard Caspit's numerous columns since 2009 pleading with Prime Minister Netanyahu to fulfill his promises. Caspit further detailed his long-standing opposition to the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal and the release of Sinwar, even recalling a video where he urged Naftali Bennett to assassinate Sinwar.

The public spat between Caspit and Magal follows another recent television controversy involving Caspit. During an interview on Channel 12's "Meet the Press" program, hosted by Caspit and Amit Segal, Caspit expressed anger towards a Netanyahu confidant, an incident that reportedly spiraled out of control and garnered significant social media attention.
