Father’s Day was especially painful this year for the Osbourne family, which lost its patriarch, Ozzy Osbourne, last year. Ozzy is survived by his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and six children, including Kelly and Jack, who appeared with their parents on the family reality show that aired on MTV in the early 2000s.
Kelly marked the day with an Instagram post dedicated to her father. She wrote that she still finds herself looking for him in everyday moments, whether for advice, a joke she wants to share, or a success she wishes he could have seen. “The pain of missing you is the price I pay for loving you,” she wrote, adding that she is willing to pay it forever rather than not be his daughter. She said she will never stop missing him and called it a privilege to spend the rest of her life loving him, “Until we meet again!”
Along with the message, Kelly shared childhood photos with Ozzy and a story showing a message he had sent her about their son, Sid. Ozzy had written that when he felt unwell or sad, watching a video of “little Sid in the bath” made him so happy that everything passed. Kelly replied, “I love you more than anything in the world and I miss you so much.” Sid was born in 2022 to Kelly and her former partner Sid Wilson, and the couple split earlier this year after four years together.
Ozzy, the metal legend and frontman of Black Sabbath, died at 76 after battling Parkinson’s disease and other illnesses in recent years. Kelly also addressed online criticism over her weight loss in the past year, saying, “Go to hell. My father just died, I’m doing my best and the only thing I’m living for right now is my family.” Next year will mark the first anniversary of his death.
