After a packed period that included a wedding, international careers, and frequent travel between Israel and London, Noa Kirel and her husband Daniel finally went on their honeymoon, only for the trip to be interrupted by an unexpected medical scare. In an interview with Srugim, conducted at the launch of El Al Travel, El Al’s new tourism platform, Kirel also discussed online rumors, her faith with Daniel, and speculation that she may return to the Festigal.
Kirel said the honeymoon was “a bit challenging,” with stops in Greece, Japan, Israel, and later Italy. The problem began shortly after they arrived in Japan, where she developed intense pain after two days. She was taken to a hospital where no one spoke English, and after doctors suspected appendicitis, she consulted physicians in Israel and was advised to return home for proper treatment. “The treatment in Japan is very different from the treatment in Israel,” she said. “I consulted professors, they told me to come back to Israel. I came back, I was in the hospital, and now I’m fine, thank God.” After recovering, the couple resumed the trip and spent a few more days in Italy.
Following news of her hospitalization, social media users speculated that Kirel might be pregnant. She dismissed the rumors, saying, “It seems to me that every time something a little unusual happens, people immediately think it is connected to pregnancy.” Kirel said it does not bother her, because she knew that after marriage this would become a recurring subject of speculation. “When it happens, it will happen at the right time, with God’s help, and everyone will know,” she said.
Asked about Daniel’s wish for a large family, Kirel said she loves children, but emphasized timing and practicality. “Children are a blessing and joy, and we really love children,” she said, adding that both of them are in demanding careers and want the timing to be right rather than rushed. She also described her and Daniel’s religious commitment, saying he puts on tefillin every day, they make kiddush on Fridays when together, and that his connection to religion has grown stronger recently, partly because he spends much of his time living and working in London. Near the end of the interview, she addressed reports of a possible Festigal comeback, saying, “We’ll have to wait and see,” calling the show “like a home” to her, while admitting the memory of past overwork there remains “a trauma.”
