Striker Thai Baribo Cleared for Ireland Match Despite Injury Concerns
Israeli national team striker Thai Baribo is expected to be included in the squad for Sunday's match against Ireland, despite experiencing groin pain. An MRI scan on Friday revealed no significant injury, though Baribo is not anticipated to start the game. Dor Turgeman is likely to take his place in the forward line.
Baribo was an unused substitute in Israel's 3-1 loss to Austria on Thursday. Turgeman is set to start up front, replacing Seyed Ouwes who was sent off with a yellow card in the previous match.
The Israeli team flew to Debrecen, Hungary, on a chartered plane after a morning training session. Players who did not participate in the Austria game trained, while others received treatment. Following the Ireland match, the players will have a day and a half off. Coach Alon Hazan is reportedly considering a switch to a three-man defense, with Liel Abada also a potential starter alongside Turgeman.
