On June 10, 2026, Reuters reported that U.S. President Donald Trump, 80, set off unusual confusion and new concerns about his mental fitness with a Truth Social post ahead of Father’s Day. He shared a photo of a blonde woman in black sitting on a red sofa and talking on the phone, with the caption, “Great daughter. My honor!!! President Donald J. Trump.”
Within hours, users pointed out that the woman did not appear to be either of Trump’s daughters, Ivanka Trump, 44, or Tiffany Trump, 32. The image also looked old, likely from the 1990s or early 2000s, and some viewers said the room resembled Camp David, where Trump was staying that same weekend. The White House did not respond to repeated media requests for clarification, and the lack of explanation fueled jokes, speculation, and conspiracy theories online.
Several U.S. reports later identified the woman as Margo Catsimatidis, 74, wife of New York billionaire and Trump donor John Catsimatidis. Their daughter, Andrea Catsimatidis, 36, has chaired the Manhattan Republican Party since 2017 and is a prominent Trump supporter. That led to a leading theory that Trump meant to praise Andrea, not call Margo his daughter, but the choice of an old photo of the mother remained unexplained. Daily Mirror U.S. political editor Mikey Smith said the image may have been taken at Camp David during the Clinton administration, and other reports noted the Catsimatidis family’s past involvement in building the Evergreen chapel there.
Andrea Catsimatidis responded by reposting the image and thanking Trump for inviting her to his birthday party and for what he is doing for America. Still, Trump has not explained the photo, when it was taken, or who it was meant to depict. Hours later, he posted a more standard Father’s Day message saying, “Happy Father’s Day! Our country is doing GREAT,” and praised jobs, the stock market, the economy and the military. The episode became another example of criticism over his frequent and often strange social media posts, including a Daily Beast report that he made 861 posts last month, an average of 27 a day.
