Journalist Accuses Former Attorney General Mandelblit of Abandoning Jewish Values

Journalist Ayelet Hasson sharply criticized former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit during an interview on Eli Tsipori's radio program on Radio Galey Israel. Hasson questioned Mandelblit's character and performance, stating, "Avichai Mandelblit is a man under pressure, and most importantly, he has distanced himself from everything Judaism commands." She elaborated that true adherence to Judaism is internal, concerning one's connection to justice and the Jewish soul, rather than external observances.

Hasson also criticized Mandelblit's refusal to testify in court, contrasting it with the accessibility of elected officials. "One might think he is writing the curriculum and content, and therefore cannot come," she argued. "A prime minister during wartime can come to court, but Mr. Mandelblit cannot?"

She further recalled Mandelblit's past actions, specifically the timing of indictments. "An indictment can be filed during Netanyahu's summit in Washington on the Abraham Accords, but he cannot testify? Really," Hasson concluded, implying a double standard in how the system treats public officials versus former legal figures.
