Netanyahu Meets Greek PM Ahead of UN Address, Discusses Regional Stability and Energy

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, shortly before Netanyahu's scheduled address. The leaders discussed regional developments, energy cooperation, and advancing another trilateral summit with Cyprus. This follows a previous summit held by the three countries in December.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, Netanyahu emphasized the strategic partnership between Israel and Greece as crucial for regional stability. He also welcomed Greece's decision to acquire Israeli defense systems.

Netanyahu referenced the "Achilles Shield" deal signed last month, under which Israel will establish a multi-layered aerial defense system for Greece. The agreement signifies deepening defense ties between the two nations.
