The Israeli television series 'Fauda' is experiencing significant popularity across the Arab world, recently achieving the number one spot on Netflix in Lebanon. The fifth season, which premiered on Netflix, has generated a mix of strong enthusiasm and calls for boycotts. Lebanese viewers interviewed expressed their dedication to the show, with one stating they have watched every season and another describing it as 'very captivating.'

The latest season's plotline, which includes the October 7th attack and the pursuit of those involved, has been a major catalyst for reactions throughout the Arab region. Lebanese journalist Ibrahim Rihan commented that chase scenes, some set in Marseille, France, convey the message that Israelis will pursue their targets globally. Social media criticism also focuses on the series' portrayal of Israelis and Palestinians. A viral video criticizes the show for depicting Israelis as victims and pursuers, while portraying armed Palestinians as terrorists.

Palestinian journalist Abir Ayoub highlighted the backgrounds of the show's creators and actors, noting that co-creator and star Lior Raz served in an Israeli undercover combat unit. Actor Idan Amedi, who plays Sagi, was a reservist injured in Gaza in January 2024.
