El Al Cancels Dubai Flights Due to Security Concerns

El Al, Israel's national airline, has suspended all flights from Ben Gurion Airport to Dubai until November 30. The cancellations are attributed to security restrictions and additional requirements imposed by the Shin Bet, Israel's internal security agency. This decision impacts travel plans for many passengers.

In separate news, El Al's subsidiary Sun d'Or intends to reintroduce direct flights from Israel to Marrakech, Morocco, starting November 16, pending necessary approvals. This route was previously resumed by Arkia in late August after a three-year hiatus, followed by Israir in early September, though Israir's service is scheduled only until the end of October. Ticket prices for Sun d'Or's Marrakech flights start at $599 for a Lite fare, which includes carry-on baggage and a small cabin suitcase.

Additionally, El Al has extended its Diamond loyalty program until February 28, 2027, allowing members two additional months to accumulate points under existing conditions. The program was originally set to conclude on December 31, 2026.

Previously, El Al had also suspended flights to Moscow until at least October 22 due to the threat of Ukrainian drones. The airline had hoped to launch a new route to St. Petersburg, but Russian authorities reportedly denied permission for this service.
