Maccabi Holon and Herzliya Reach Handball Cup Finals

Maccabi Ironi Holon and Bnot Herzliya have advanced to the finals of the men's and women's Winner Cup handball tournaments, respectively. The men's final will feature Holon, who defeated Maccabi Rishon LeZion 36-27 in a decisive second half. After a tied first half at 14-14, Holon dominated the second half, with Or Levi scoring 10 goals and the team's defense limiting Rishon LeZion to only 13 goals. Holon's goalkeepers Oren Mairovich and Or Knaani made a combined 16 saves.

In the women's competition, Bnot Herzliya secured their spot in the final by beating Maccabi Ramat Gan 28-23. The first half was closely contested, ending in a 12-12 tie. Herzliya pulled away in the second half, building a seven-goal lead thanks to strong saves from goalkeeper Bruna Camboim and offensive contributions, including six goals from Shira Jarbi. Ramat Gan attempted a late comeback but could not overcome the deficit.

The combined Winner Cup, which includes the men's Moses Reiss Cup and the women's Athena Cup, is being held for the first time. The men's final is scheduled for Saturday at 6:00 PM, followed by the women's final at 8:15 PM. The remaining semi-final matches, including Maccabi Holon vs. Hapoel Ashdod in the women's bracket and AS Ramat Hasharon vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv in the men's, are set to take place on Friday.
