Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded today, Wednesday, to the antisemitic remarks made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against the state: "The antisemitic tyrant Erdogan, who is committing genocide against the Kurds, supports the terrorist organization Hamas, oppresses his people and jails political opponents, is the last person who can preach morality to the State of Israel".
Netanyahu made clear that the tyrant's threats do not shake Israel's course for even a moment: "The state and the IDF, the most moral army in the world, will continue to act with force against Iran and its proxies, which threaten the Middle East and the entire world."
In a speech earlier today before his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) faction in Ankara, Erdogan said Turkey would respond "in a firm and clear manner" to any threat to its sovereignty and to the rights of Turkish Cypriots in the eastern Mediterranean.
He also referred to the situation in Syria and Lebanon, and claimed that "the security of Damascus and Beirut is Turkey's security." According to him, Ankara will not accept "faits accomplis" in the region and added that "we will never allow Israel to realize the plan of the 'Promised Land'."
