Religious Education System Warns of Funding Cuts Impact in New Video

The Religious Education Forum has launched a new video highlighting the potential consequences of funding freezes and legal challenges facing the state-religious education system in Israel. The video depicts institutions, soldiers, and community activities being "deleted" from the screen, symbolizing the perceived threat to the system.

The campaign comes amid a freeze on funds and ongoing High Court of Justice discussions concerning the budgeting of state-religious education. The forum warns that the dispute, fueled by petitions from left-wing organizations, could harm core components of the system, including religious studies, identity programs, and other unique characteristics that define it as both state-funded and religious.

According to the forum, the current situation is not merely a budgetary issue but an existential threat to the state-religious education system, which they argue has been foundational for generations of activism, service, volunteering, and leadership within Religious Zionism and Israeli society.

"Those who act and harm state-religious education are not truly seeking equality," stated the Religious Education Forum. "We are telling the public clearly: if this education is harmed, one of the central life projects of the State of Israel is harmed, and a system that built generations of dedication, responsibility, and love for the country is harmed. This must not be allowed to happen."
