Netanyahu Aide Jonathan Urich Faces Multiple Legal Battles

Jonathan Urich, a close advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party's communications and strategy consultant, is embroiled in several legal proceedings. In June 2026, he was indicted for allegedly leaking classified information to the German newspaper Bild, an offense carrying a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. He is also suspected in the "Qatargate" affair of contact with a foreign agent, bribery, and money laundering, admitting to receiving funds from Qatar for a World Cup campaign.

Despite the prosecution's request to bar him from the Prime Minister's Office, a court rejected the motion, allowing Urich to continue working with Netanyahu on the election campaign.
