Ben Gvir Slams Former MK German for Comparing Otzma Yehudit to Nazis

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, chairman of the Otzma Yehudit party, fiercely criticized former Knesset member Yael German after she compared his party to Nazism during a Central Elections Committee discussion. Ben Gvir stated in response, "Yael German, shame on you! There are limits even to political struggle. Comparing Otzma Yehudit and its hundreds of thousands of supporters to Nazis is an unbearable trivialization of the Holocaust. You can oppose us, you can file petitions, but do not use the Holocaust as a political tool. Neither you nor your friends will determine who is legitimate in the State of Israel. The public will decide at the ballot box!"

Ben Gvir emphasized that while political opposition and legal challenges are acceptable, equating his party and its supporters with Nazis constitutes an unacceptable desecration of Holocaust memory. He asserted that German and her allies do not have the authority to define political legitimacy in Israel, stating that the decision rests with the voters.
