Post-Oct 7 Palestinian Political Realignment: Hamas, Dahlan, and Al-Qudwa Alliance Eyed

Political analyst Mohammed Salim stated that emerging Palestinian alliances, potentially including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Mohammed Dahlan's movement, and Naser Al-Qudwa's faction, signal a significant reshaping of the Palestinian political system rather than mere electoral competition. Salim explained in an interview with i24NEWS that these "alliances of necessity" are driven by the regional and battlefield shifts following the October 7th events. He noted international and regional pushes for elections to renew legitimacy and restructure the political system as a precursor to political solutions and the concept of a Palestinian state in the "day after" arrangements.

Salim cautioned that the electoral landscape and the actual impact of these potential lists on Fatah and other political forces remain uncertain until the final names, lists, and alliances become clear. He emphasized that the ballot box and the on-the-ground situation will ultimately determine the future Palestinian political map.
