Journalist Menashe Raz's Final Post Expresses Profound Regret

Renowned journalist and television personality Menashe Raz published his final social media post on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, just before his passing. In contrast to the customary New Year greetings, Raz expressed his profound difficulty in wishing his loved ones a "good year," concluding his message with a single, poignant word: "Sorry."

Raz began his post by stating, "This is not despair. These are facts. This is the reality of our lives." He described his feelings with stark imagery, writing, "The heavens darkened, and around me, the storm raged." He continued, "With demonic, threatening, and frightening screams in the background, and terrible nightmares and torments that don't seem to be going anywhere, the phrase 'good year' seems, at best, to be from another universe."

He then turned his thoughts to the dear people in his life, those he wished to greet with a happy new year. "I have a long list of beloved people for whom I would give my soul to have a good year," he wrote. However, Raz confessed his inability to offer these greetings, stating, "I couldn't even bring myself to wish them well, and every encounter with them turned into a ceremony of shame and averted eyes."
