New Israeli TV Channel 16 Expands Reach to Millions of Homes

Channel 16, a new Israeli television channel that launched in June, is significantly expanding its distribution. Starting October 4th, the channel will be available at no extra cost to subscribers of yes+, STING+, and Partner TV, airing on channel 16. This move brings the channel to millions of additional Israeli households.

Channel 16 focuses on a central news program anchored by Yaakov Eilon, alongside current affairs shows, original content, entertainment, music, humor, and human interest stories. The channel aims to blend news and current events with diverse television content, emphasizing new formats and direct viewer engagement.

As part of the agreement with yes, Channel 16 has also acquired several of yes's original productions, which will be integrated into its broadcast schedule. In addition to Eilon, the channel features personalities such as Tzviקה Hader, Maor Zaguri, and Yael Bar Zohar, along with a team of presenters, creators, and top television professionals.

Channel 16 is also incorporating new technologies, including SAY16, an AI-based model for real-time viewer feedback. The channel is currently available on FreeTV and Cellcom TV, with its addition to yes marking a continued expansion across Israeli television platforms.

Channel 16 management stated that joining yes, Sting, and Partner is a further step in establishing the channel on the Israeli broadcast landscape, building a new Israeli channel that connects news, current affairs, and diverse content. They expressed pleasure with the collaboration and its significance for the channel's development. Karen Gleicher, yes's VP of Content, expressed pride in Channel 16 joining yes and highlighted the acquisition of original productions as a testament to their quality and success, enabling them to reach wider audiences.
