Israel Flags Displayed in Galilee Ahead of Religious Zionist Party Meeting

Youth from the Religious Zionist movement and the Galilee organized a nighttime operation, hanging approximately 1,000 Israeli flags along main roads and near a new settlement point close to Majd al-Krum. The action was conducted as a prelude to an urgent faction meeting of the Religious Zionist party scheduled for Thursday morning at the same location.

Activists involved stated the flag display was intended to express Israeli sovereignty in the Negev and Galilee regions. They described it as the first phase of a broader initiative to replicate the settlement expansion model from Judea and Samaria into the northern and southern parts of Israel, thereby strengthening Jewish presence on the ground.

The upcoming faction meeting is expected to include Knesset members and ministers, notably Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Minister of Settlement and National Missions Orit Strock. They are slated to discuss practical methods for reinforcing Jewish presence in the Galilee and advancing settlement efforts.

In parallel with the flag installation and logistical preparations for the meeting, the Israel Police have increased their presence in the area. This heightened security measure stems from concerns about potential friction, public disturbances, riots, or blockades of major traffic routes, given the scheduled party meeting.
