Maccabi Haifa Defender Tsunami Nears Return to Play
Maccabi Haifa defender Tsunami is nearing a return to the squad and could be available for the upcoming match against Hapoel Jerusalem. The Brazilian player, who joined the club this summer, initially played as a left-back but showed more promise at center-back. He started at center-back in the team's only league game this season where they did not concede a goal, and he also scored a beautiful goal in that match against Ironi Kiryat Shmona.
Tsunami was set to start in the subsequent game against Ironi Tiberias, but he reported muscle sensitivity, and the coaching staff opted not to risk him. He will now gradually return to team training.
Head coach Barak Bakhar faces a decision on whether to immediately reinstate Tsunami into the starting lineup or maintain the current defensive partnership of Nigel Boakye and Noam Shtayman.
