Iran Halts Talks Pending Trump Apology and Israeli Withdrawal From South Lebanon
A Lebanese Al Mayadeen reporter said Iran has suspended the negotiations in response to Donald Trump’s remarks. According to the report, the Iranian delegation will not return to the table until Trump apologizes and Israel withdraws from southern Lebanon.
The report said Iran is now demanding not only a halt to what it calls aggression, but also an Israeli pullout from southern Lebanon. Reuters reported that the talks have been paused, but not ended.
Iranian television said the status of the negotiations remains unclear, and it is still not known when, or whether, the sides will resume discussions.
