Digital Marketing CEO Invests Millions in Real Estate, Thousands in Stocks
Tomer Levinsky, a 37-year-old entrepreneur from Haifa, has significantly invested in real estate, committing millions of shekels to properties including his company's offices, while his stock market investments are in the tens of thousands of dollars. Levinsky, co-owner of the digital marketing and advertising firm La'os Media, which he founded at age 20 with a partner, explained that real estate offers him a greater sense of security.
He entered the stock market relatively recently, in May 2024, after his business became established. Levinsky was introduced to investing by financial content creator Ben Wasserman, who guided him on opening accounts, understanding stocks, and making profitable trades. Levinsky has invested approximately $80,000 in the stock market over the past two years, currently valuing his portfolio at just over $110,000, a profit he considers modest.
Levinsky's investment strategy involves a mix of index funds, primarily the S&P 500, and growth stocks, with 20% in the S&P 500 index and 80% in growth stocks for his US portfolio. He prefers global indices like the S&P 500 for diversification, given his substantial real estate holdings in Israel. He also noted a past significant loss from investing in SolarEdge stock based on a recommendation, which taught him to be cautious of hyped stocks.
Looking ahead, Levinsky is interested in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, particularly companies like Anthropic, and plans to invest in AI-related stocks once they become publicly traded. He acknowledges a need to develop his skills in fundamental analysis but cites time constraints due to his demanding business and family life as a barrier to deeper market research.
