Two weeks after its release on Netflix, the Israeli series "Fauda" has achieved a significant milestone in the American market, entering the top 10 most-watched shows in the United States according to Luminate data, which tracks viewership across all streaming platforms. This success positions the Israeli drama as a competitor for American audience attention against global series.

The timing of this achievement is particularly noteworthy, as the fifth season was written amidst the ongoing war, with two episodes directly addressing the events of October 7th. Series co-creator Avi Issacharoff stated that these episodes offer international viewers insights into details they may not have encountered in the news, bringing a highly charged Israeli narrative to screens worldwide.

This US success follows a strong reception in the Middle East. On September 10th, "Fauda" ranked first on Netflix in Lebanon, second in Jordan, the UAE, and Bahrain, and was in the top 10 in several other regional countries. While these rankings don't indicate individual interpretations, they highlight broad interest in the series even in countries where its narrative is particularly sensitive.

The production itself was impacted by the war, with actor Idan Amedi sustaining serious injuries and crew member Matan Meir losing his life in combat.
