Yael Shelbia and Lance Stroll Adapt to Baku F1 Schedule Shift

The upcoming Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan, features an unusual schedule change, moving all track activities up by one day. This adjustment affects everyone involved, including Israeli model Yael Shelbia, who is expected to attend and support her partner, Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll. Practice sessions will now begin on Thursday, qualifying on Friday, and the main race will take place on Saturday.

The reason for this significant schedule alteration is not professional but political and national. September 27th is a day of remembrance in Azerbaijan for soldiers lost in the 2020 Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. Formula 1 management agreed to the organizers' and local authorities' request to advance the schedule, allowing for national memorial events, including a moment of silence and a full traffic halt at noon.

For Shelbia, this means another adjustment to her life accompanying Stroll, as she missed the previous event in Madrid after attending the Monza race. Stroll himself experienced a difficult weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix in August, retiring early due to significant car damage. Both Stroll and Shelbia are hoping the revised schedule and departure from tradition in Baku will bring a positive turn and good fortune for the Aston Martin driver.
