Power Outage Halts Penalty Kick in Israeli Soccer Match
A bizarre and amusing moment occurred during a Liga Alef North soccer match between MS Tira and Hapoel Bnei Musmus on Wednesday. As MS Tira was awarded a penalty kick in the first half, player Ahmed Rabia approached the penalty spot. However, just before he could take the shot, the stadium lights went out, plunging the entire venue into darkness.
After a two-minute delay, the power was restored. Rabia then successfully converted the penalty, giving his team the lead. A video clip of the unusual incident was shared.
