Iran Ready for Talks With US, But Not Under Duress, President Says

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced at the UN General Assembly that Tehran is prepared for dialogue with Washington, but will not engage in negotiations under pressure or threats. "We are ready for dialogue, diplomacy, and negotiations, without accepting the language of force," Pezeshkian stated. He urged U.S. President Donald Trump to understand Iran's position, emphasizing that sanctions and pressure will not compel Tehran to abandon its demands.

Addressing the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global energy supplies, Pezeshkian accused the U.S. of restricting Iranian shipping and asserted that Iran should not be denied access to its own waters.

Regarding the situation in Gaza, the Iranian president declared that "resistance will continue" against what Tehran terms occupation, aggression, and injustice. Iran has a long-standing history of supporting Hamas.

Pezeshkian also criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency, alleging double standards in its nuclear inspections and claiming that Iran faces demands not applied to Israel.
